Job Description 

Main Purpose of Job:

  • Support the Leadership Team in implementing the vision of the school. 
  • Improve attendance through hands-on approaches, including engaging with families, pupils and the wider system
  • To secure the very best standards of social and emotional mental health across the school through mentoring and in - class support
  • Prioritise the importance of good physical and mental health and positive learning behaviours for pupils
  • Be responsive to the needs of pupils 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support for the Pupils and Staff
  • Support an ethos in which all staff are motivated and supported to develop their own skills and subject knowledge through effective communication and collaboration
  • Use evidence-informed practice to support and develop emotional resilience in and outside the classroom.
  • Plan and support a range of extracurricular learning opportunities.
  • Contribute towards key fundraising events. 
  • Contribute to identifying key areas of strength and improvement with detailed 
  • knowledge of the school's day-to-day policies and working practices.
  • Ensure that any systems implemented are fair and transparent, and promote the well-being of children

Knowledge and Understanding:

  • Understand the relationship between the curriculum, social and emotional learning and educational achievements.
  • Show an understanding of how teamwork contributes to school improvement. 
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Committed to developing and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders: parents/ carers, teachers, the Pastoral Team and the Senior Leadership Team through regular communication.
  • Be committed to, and show evidence of, the promotion of equal opportunities 
and acceptance of responsibility for its practical applications.

Clear Reporting: a streamlined internal system (MyConcern) for reporting and tracking concerns with ‘real-time monitoring and response.

Curriculum Integration: teaching children how to stay safe through, for example, PSHE lessons, P4C lessons, online safety, healthy relationships, Rights of the Child assemblies, pupil voice meetings, award assemblies, current affairs discussions, open door policies and daily access to our pastoral and senior leadership teams.
